THE GOLDEN ALTAR OF INCENSE PART 1 (YESHUA THE HIGH PRIEST – PRAYER AND INTERCESSION) Part of our worship is prayer and intercession. God has called each believer to be a holy and royal priesthood. I Peter 2:5 you also as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house, be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Messiah Yeshua. I Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Under the Old Covenant, the Altar of Incense was in the Holy Place and only the High Priest could minister before the Lord. In Hebrews 9:2-4 we read that the Altar of Incense is in the Most Holy Place. The curtain has been torn and we can all come directly into the presence of God to minister as a holy and royal priesthood. THE FOUR HORNS OF THE ALTAR OF INCENSE Altar – Worship Incense – Prayer The horn is a symbol of power, strength and defense and all of the above can be found in the horns of: Praise, Worship, Prayer & Intercession. Revelation 5:8…the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Revelation 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, 4 and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. THE HORNS OF THANKSGIVING, PRAISE & WORSHIP DIRECT ACCESS TO GOD THROUGH THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE When entering the Tabernacle, we are exhorted to “Enter his gates with thanksgiving (tôwdâh), and his courts with praise (tehillâh)! Give thanks (yâdâh) to him; bless (bârâk) his name!” Psalm 100:4 THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE Thank God for all His goodness and for all He has done for us. Praise God for His greatness. Even the Lords’ prayer begins with honouring the Name of God. Matthew 6:9 Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Luke 11:1 Father, hallowed be your name. THE HORN OF PRAISE Praise moves our focus onto the One whom we are praising. Praise brings encouragement – Names and character of God. Praise builds our faith – Praise lifts our eyes from our circumstances to our almighty Father who is the Ruler over all. Praise brings deliverance – 2 Chron. 20:1-30 King Jehoshaphat. Praise lifts our eyes from the battle to the victory. THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE LEAD TO WORSHIP Psalm 95:1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. 3 For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods. 4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. 5 The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. 6 Oh come let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our maker. 7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, The sheep of His hand. THE HORN OF WORSHIP Worship is primarily an attitude. During worship we become totally focused on God and thus the lines of communication are open for God to speak to us through His Spirit. It is important to hear what God is saying so that we can pray and intercede according to the will of God. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

About the Podcast

Spudcaster
Authentic South African Stories
I am an indie podcast producer from Johannesburg, South Africa. I created this podcasting platform as somewhat of a legacy project. To borrow from David Viscott, the purpose of life is to find your gift. The meaning of life is to give it away.

I am a storyteller. Radio is where I ply my trade. I love the beauty of the medium. The way it can move you, the way it carries your imagination. I have 16 years of experience in a radio news environment. I also have considerable experience in radio current affairs, including features making. Over the years I have profiled lawyers and judges, historical figures and ordinary people – all with a story to tell.

I started this website to help make podcasting more accessible. I believe that South Africans are natural storytellers. I also believe that podcasting is the future of radio. I have three active christian podcasts, which all publish weekly.

I run an art pod. With three more in the offing. The art pod is hosted by social artivist Wesley Pepper. He felt that artists didn’t have much of a voice even before the lockdown. Now more than 25 episodes in, and he credits the podcast as one of his most successful projects for 2020!

At Spudcaster, we are building a storytelling platform. Our ultimate goal is to generate local content. To allow Africans to tell African stories. Let Spudcaster podcast your life! Be a part of the next BIG thing!
